The perfect wedding calls for a perfect location and no island getaway offers a more idyllic setting than Anguilla.

From a lovely traditional wedding in one of the island's charming churches to an informal wedding on the beach as waves lap the shoreline-everything can be arranged to meet any couple's personal tastes.

For newlyweds, the beauty of Anguilla is the flexibility of the options. Get married on the island, or simply slip away for a secluded island honeymoon. The hotels offer packages that make both alternatives infinitely inviting at a range of price points.

For those interested in getting married on Anguilla, both parties must present proof of citizenship in a resident country. Such proof includes a valid passport, birth certificate or driver's license with photo.

If either party has been divorced or widowed, the divorce decree or death certificate of the deceased spouse must be presented. Documents must be written in English and translated into English and notarized.

If one member of the couple has resided in Anguilla for at least 15 days before the date of the nuptials, the cost of the marriage license will be US$40. If that residency has been less than 15 days, the cost of the license will be US$284, including stamp duty.

Two witnesses are required to attend the marriage ceremony. For further information or to apply for a marriage license, contact The Registrar, Judicial Department, The Valley, Anguilla, Tel (809) 496-2377/3347.
