Plan
your wedding in advance by taking advantage of
the special event coordinators at the larger
resorts. But if something impromptu is what you
prefer, Dominica is the ideal place to do it
- on the beach as the sun dips below the horizon.
Be
advised that there is a 15-day residency requirement
and it takes approximately one week to obtain
a marriage license. Application forms are obtainable
from the Ministry of Community Development.
To
apply for a special non-resident marriage license,
couples must present birth certificates and proof
of citizenship. Additionally, proof of a legal
divorce decree or the death certificate of a
deceased spouse must be presented if applicable.
No
blood tests are required and the cost of the marriage license
is approximately US$114.
